The Governor's Cup defending champions Sta.Lucia Realtors had two of its players chosen in the Philippine national team training pool divided into two groups, Dennis Espino for RP-Selecta Ice Cream and Marlou Aquino for RP-Hapee toothpaste, the Realtors failed to advance in the semifinals.
In the Commissioner's Cup, the Realtors signed in Chris Clay, a Fil-American who was with the RP training pool and formerly of Pangasinan Waves from the Metropolitan Basketball Association (MBA) to replace one of their imports, Willie Farley. The Realtors won six of their last seven games to finish at the top two of the team standings with seven wins and three losses and tied with Batang Red Bull, the Realtors lost to Talk 'N Text Phone Pals in the quarterfinal round despite the twice-to-beat advantage.
Sta.Lucia bowed out for the third time in the All-Filipino Cup, they lost to Coca-Cola in a one-game playoff during the quarterfinals.
